Baked Wheat Crackers

Baked wheat crackers are crispy and tasty. They are ideal to binge as snacks with a cup of tea.

Kids are hungry and often looking for something to binge. It is ideal to store as snacks in the jar.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 tbsp semolina
  • 1 tablespoon yoghurt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 tablespoon oil
  • 1/2 tablespoon flax seed
  • 1 teaspoon chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • a pinch of asafoetida
  • water

Instructions

  1. In a wide bowl add the ingredients except water. Mix them well with fingers to get a crumbly texture.
  2. Add little water and knead to a stiff dough.
  3. Take a ball of the dough, roll into a thin chapati.
  4. Cut into squares. You can cut them in any desired shape.
  5. Pre-heat the oven.
  6. Line the baking tray with a sheet, arrange the crackers and bake for the required time. I need only seven minutes to bake a batch of them.
  7. Repeat for the rest of the dough.
  8. Once cool, store in an air tight container.

Recipe Notes

Baking time and temperature settings differs with each oven. Know your model and set the time. The temperature setting is usually at 170 degree centigrade.
