Papaya halwa makes a delectable sweet to serve for any occasion, it is tasty and healthy with the goodness of the wonder fruit in it. Serve it along with breakfast or as an after school snack, the kids will be happy.

Children are so unpredictable at times, my son hardly ate sweets earlier. But, these days, he is crazy about them. He keeps searching the container if he finds any, so I keep making them. I love savoury food, not really fond of sweets.

Papaya is one of fruits that many detest but the benefits of the same are ample. So I thought of sharing this sweet here, the taste of the fruit is barely noticeable.

The enzyme papain present in papaya aids in digestion by breaking down the proteins. It also helps against inflammation and promote healing of burns. It is a great source of Vitamin A, B, C and K. It acts as an immunity booster . It is great for the growth of body tissues. It is found to be good for diabetes too.

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoon ghee / clarified butter
  • 1 teaspoon rice flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoon cream
  • a pinch of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • dry fruits

Method:

  • Wash and peel the papaya. Cut into cubes, discard the seeds and white membrane.
  • Blend the cubes to a puree.
  • Take a pan and roast the rice flour. Keep it aside.
  • Add a tablespoon of ghee to it, roast the cashew and almond until golden, remove them in a small bowl.
  • In the same pan, add the papaya puree and let cook for ten minutes. Add milk and the rice flour, mix it well.
